Academic Details

• School working days are from Sunday-Thursday.

• Weekly holidays are on Fridays and Saturdays.

• School remains closed on govt. holidays.

• In case of “unavoidable circumstances” the school informs students either verbally or in written form or by SMS when possible.

• All classes start at 8:15 a.m. sharp and are over as per routine of each class.

• Students are not allowed to stay in the school after the above mentioned time.

• Students are required to be collected from school as soon as the classes are over. The school does not accept responsibility for students who remain in the premises for more than half an hour after school.

• Only parents and legal guardians may pick their children from school.

• Advance payment of two consecutive months (tuition/ transportation) must be made if the school closes for a vacation of more than two weeks.

• Monthly tuition fees must be paid by the 15th of every month. If payment is delayed a fine of Tk.20/- only per day is charged.

• While paying fees. Name, class, ID no. & date must be written correctly and clearly on the money receipt book.

• Parents may have option to pay the fees in advance (Non-refundable) for a maximum period of one year.

• No report card or transfer certificate is given unless the students have cleared dues.

• If the students remain absent for a long period on health grounds, a doctor’s certificate must be presented to the class teacher when the students return to school.

• The school authority must be informed if a student remains absent from school for any reason other than illness. Any tests/exams missed during such absence cannot be taken unless specific permission is taken beforehand and the student loses marks from his/her total.

• Pass mark for each subject is 50% of the full marks.

• Only Parents/Guardians or authorized persons are required to collect the Report Cards personally and discuss progress with the teachers who are available in the school at the specified time. Parents co- operation in this respect is essential. Parents are informed as to when Report Cards are given.

• Since a lot of emphasis is given on class work, punctuality and regularity of attendance are essential in order to obtain the best possible result.

• Class test copies are sent home to enable the parents to know about their children’s progress. Copies must be duly signed and returned to school the next day.

• Report Cards must be returned to school with parent’s signature.

• Any notice from school must be acknowledged by the parents duly signed and returned to the school on the next day.

• Parents are advised not to send their children to school if they contact any kind of viruses.

• Parents are advised not to allow students to bring colorful or fancy stationery to school.

• Parents are requested to provide their children with tiffin, drinking water, hand towel and extra clothing (if needed).

• Parents are not allowed to enter the classrooms during school hours because it causes a lot of inconveniences and hampers the academic atmosphere of the school.

• If any student remains absent for 3 consecutive days the parent must send a written letter of excuse to the school on the following day stating the reason for being absent.

• Parents can meet teachers on the last Thursday of the month to discuss the progress of their wards.

• Parents/Guardians are requested to notify the school authority immediately if there is any change of address and telephone number.

• Parents are requested to attend all meetings on the dates announced by the school authority

Extra-Curricular Activities together with the academic programmes are available for all classes. Cultural programmes, Book Fairs, Art Competitions, Science Fairs, Debate, Quiz, Study Tours, Picnics, Sports, etc are arranged throughout the year. It helps our students become confident and happy individuals in every sphere of their lives.

Study Tour - USA Taking students beyond the horizon of native borders to have a glimpse of outer world is another landmark ABC may take pride in. “USA-Tour” was done successfully under direct guidance of our principal. It is our desire to arrange such tour-abroad every year. If situation proves favorable, we will initiate our second “USA-Tour” soon

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, Bangladesh.

Our recent success has also been reflected in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Foundation. One of our students (Mohaimin Bin Iqbal Mugdha) wrote an article titled Discovery, based on his experience, being a member of the field activity under Duke of Edinburgh Award Foundation. It, was accepted for getting published in the annual international magazine of Duke of Edinburgh Award Foundation.

Holidays Our school remains closed on Fridays, Saturdays and all public holidays. Holiday List is circulated at the beginning of every term. Students are expected to follow this schedule and attend school accordingly. Notice of unexpected closures and unplanned holidays is given verbally or in writing whenever possible. However, parents are required to contact the school office when in doubt.

SSP (Supervised Study Programme) We arrange SSP for students on all major subjects. This is done after the normal working hours on selected working days. SSP for weaker students is also arranged if and when necessary.

Extra-classes for weaker students Our teachers identify the weaker students, arrange counseling sessions with them and also help them in extra classes. Extra study Materials are also made available to them.

Message From Principal

The management members without which we couldn’t have come so far. We look forward to their support, guidance and blessings. While talking about ABC. I need to mention the congenial atmosphere we have managed to establish with active cooperation of faculty members. I keep telling my teachers to take the role of parents for students as long as they are at school. I remind them – If we can’t give them the love and affection of parents, we can’t be perfect teachers. I feel extremely satisfied when I hear parents and outsiders showering praise for the special atmosphere which they say is different from all other schools in Narayanganj.

Rich library and labs (science and computer) help faculty members farther enrich their study materials. This is supplemented by frequent British Council training/seminar. Edexcel/Pearson, as I have been given to understand, keeps our school name in their good book. Even in most critical/ difficult situation, Edexcel/Pearson is there to help us. We are privileged; we always receive the special attention/service from them

Our success chronicle is quite long. It starts with the magnificent performance of Tasnimul Hasan Tasin, while being suppressed/depressed during the pandemic days, Tasin showed a bright light. He took the written exam under Pearson/ Edexcel, without accepting the assessment grades of teachers. We all were in the seventh heaven when his result was published. He got ABC has achieved a number of crowns for academic success over last 27 years, and it is with genuine support of parents that we have been able of do it. I take this opportunity to thank and appreciate the cooperation and understanding of parents and well wishers that will help us climb new heights of glory in future days.

We always welcome parents with progressive outlook to stand beside us, disseminate their valuable opinion and help us wade forward. However, the strongest support comes from12A* in all 12 subjects. He is now being offered a handsome scholarship in an American university where he will carry ABC torch to enlighten many foreign students about ABC and Bangladesh at large. Dear parents, this is what ABC has accomplished.

ABC is an inseparable part of Duke of Edinburgh Award Foundation. Medals of recognition are coming in plenty every year. Our school has achieved a prestigious place in Duke of Edinburgh Magazine which we so much deserve. Real-trust worthy Duke of Edinburgh veterans of ABC hold undisputed position in Narayanganj. They are the pioneers, they are the torch bearer. More gold awards are in the pipeline. It goes without saying that the cultural festival continues to attract maximum number of viewers every year. ABC leadership in spelling-bee and debate continues to be at the top without a challenger anywhere near. Dear parents, congratulations for your continued support.
