Curriculum
Cambridge Early Years
This section includes Playgroup (PG) to Kindergarten (KG), where students begin early education and reach internationally recognized developmental milestones. At this age, their impressionable minds need a caring environment. Starting with pencil training through games, songs, storytelling, and gentle guidance, they grow into capable, confident learners who can express themselves clearly in speech and writing. Six connected learning areas communication, language and literacy, creative expression, mathematics, personal, social and emotional development, physical development, and understanding the world - support holistic teaching and learning.
Cambridge Primary
The Cambridge Primary Section at DIS (Grades 1 to 4) builds a strong foundation for well-rounded education. It offers a broad, balanced curriculum that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Designed to challenge and inspire students of all backgrounds, the program blends academics with co-curricular activities for holistic growth. This integrated approach supports intellectual, social, and emotional development fos-tering confidence, independence, and a love for learn-ing. Cambridge Lower Secondary
Cambridge Lower Secondary This section covers Grades 5 to 7. Cambridge Lower Secondary provides structured learning objectives that guide teaching and learning. The approach focuses on developing learners who are ready for the world by strengthening critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills as they explore and investigate.
To support this, a wide range of curricular and extracurricular activities are included to address the educational, social, and emotional needs of early adolescents. At this stage, students are seen as unique Individuals navigating physical, emotional, and social changes. The program promotes social interaction, healthy recreation, leadership, self-discipline, and self-confidence, while also nurturing the intellectual, creative, and physical skills needed for future academic and life success.
Upper Secondary
ICCSE assessment takes place at the end of Grade 10 and may include written, oral, coursework, or practical components. Students may choose between core and extended curricula. Exams are held in May/June and October/November, with results published in August and January. Grades range from A to G. Grade 8 Sub-jects: Compulsory: English, Bangla Bangladesh Stud les, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Business, Accounting, Computing. Optional (choose ono): Biology, Economics, or Computer Science. Students may appear for the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint exams in April. In Grade 9, students choose IGCSE subjects based on future academic goals. Combinations such as Biology with Economics or Business with Chemistry are not permit ted. Grade 10 focuses on IGCSE exam preparation. Final Term Exams are not held, as students sit for their offi cial IGCSE exams at the end of the year. At the Dhan-mondi Branch, we offer Edexcel IGCSE for grade 9 and 10 students. Students give mock tests to qualify them-selves to sit for the board exams
Compulsory subjects for grade 9. English Language, Mathematics B, and Bangla Optional subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Pure Mathematics, ICT, Accounting. Economics, Business. Final Term Exams are not held, as students sit for their official IGCSE exams at the end of the year
Advanced Level
After completing IGCSE, students enter the Cambridge International A Level (JAL) program. This respected two-year course prepares learners for higher education. In Grade 11, students begin with the AS Level. Subject choices are based on their intended. university courses and career aspirations. At the end of the academic year, students appear for the Cambridge AS Level exams. These external assessments take the place of a school final exam and determine promotion to Grade 12 (A2 Level). In Grade 12, students continue with their subjects and take the final Cambridge A Level exams at the end of the year.
As these are external qualifications, there are no internal final exams. Upon completion, students graduate from DIS and proceed to university, both locally and internationally The Cambridge IAL exams are held twice a year-in May/June and October/November with results released in August and January Grades range from A to E, with A" awarded only at the A Level (A2), not AS. This clear grading helps universities and employers assess student achievement worldwide. For the Dhanmondi Branch, after completion of IGCSE, students can go for Edexcel A Level curriculum Mechanics, IAL) Offered Subjects: Statistics, Additional Mathermatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounting. Economics, and Business
The Edexcel IAL exams are held thrice a year in January, May/June and October/November, with results released in March, August and January.

At Daffodil International School (DIS), we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our diverse range of Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) is designed to support holistic student development by nurturing creativity, leadership, collaboration, and practical skills. Participation in ECA is mandatory for all students, with club options tailored to both junior and senior levels
Junior ECA (Classes 1-4)
Each student selects one club. Maximum capacity per club: 30 students
Art & Craft Club- Drawing, painting, and creative crafting through hands-on activities
Chess Club - Building logic and strategy skills with opportunities for tournaments
Dance Club- Introducing basic dance techniques and stage performance skills.
Literary Club- Enhancing language through storytelling, poetry, and reading
Music Club- Learning singing, rhythm, and basic instruments for group performances.
STEM & Robotics Club- Engaging with science, robotics, and simple coding via fun, project-based learning.
Theater Club-Exploring acting, script reading, and short play productions
Senior ECA (Classes 5-12)
