Education Curriculum Details

Frobel Play School

Frobel Play School, established in 2003, is the first preschool in Chattogram and a pioneer in providing an inclusive learning environment that welcomes children of all abilities. The school follows a well-structured Early Childhood Education programme aligned with the Cambridge Early Years curriculum and is proudly recognised as a Cambridge Early Years accredited institution.

The name “Frobel” is inspired by Friedrich Froebel, the pioneer of early childhood education and the founder of the kindergarten concept. At Frobel Play School, we embrace his philosophy, which emphasises learning through play, exploration, and creativity, while nurturing each child’s natural curiosity within a supportive and caring environment.

Frobel Play School offers four grade levels, each comprising four sections, ensuring a balanced student–teacher ratio and personalised attention for every child. The school adopts a holistic approach to early education, focusing on the overall development of children—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—through engaging, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning experiences.

At the heart of our approach are our core values: Enquire, Engage, and Empower. We encourage children to enquire by fostering curiosity and a love for asking questions, helping them become confident thinkers and explorers. We engage our learners through meaningful, hands-on activities, collaborative play, and interactive experiences that make learning enjoyable and relevant. We empower each child by building confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility, enabling them to express themselves, make choices, and develop essential life skills. Together, these values support our children in growing into confident, curious, and capable learners.

  • After School Club: Karate, Art & Pottery, Singing, Archery, Basketball, and Futsal.

Our After School Clubs are open not only to Frobelians but also to children from outside the school. This initiative was introduced in response to the growing need for safe, structured spaces where children can engage in physical activities and explore diverse interests. We ensure a secure environment, maintain high-quality instruction, and uphold a well-balanced student-to-teacher ratio so that every child receives proper attention. Through this initiative, Frobel aims to contribute meaningfully to the community by supporting the holistic development of all children.

Student Recreation
  • Student Recreation: Sports Day and DFC (Design for Change)

At Frobel Play School, student recreation is an essential part of our holistic approach, where children are encouraged to explore, express, and grow beyond the classroom.

Sports Day is a much-anticipated annual event where every child participates with enthusiasm and joy. At Frobel, we believe that every child is a winner. Our focus is not on competition, but on participation, teamwork, and celebrating effort. This approach helps build confidence, reduces performance pressure, and fosters a sense of belonging and inclusivity. By ensuring that each child feels valued, we nurture self-esteem, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.

Moreover, students from Frobel Academy take on an active leadership role during Sports Day. Each year, they plan and execute a selection of games for Frobel Play School students. This initiative allows them to take responsibility, demonstrate leadership, and develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and organization, while also nurturing care and mentorship for younger learners.

DFC (Design for Change) is an initiative we introduced this year with our Upper KG children, and the results have been truly inspiring. The aim of this project is to make children more observant, independent, and socially responsible, while empowering them to take meaningful action.

Our young learners amazed us with their thoughtfulness and initiative. They identified areas that needed attention, created action plans, interacted with vendors, and explored costing—all with guidance from teachers. They collected waste and scrap materials and transformed them into creative products. They also prepared food using raw ingredients with the support of teachers and staff.

The children then organized and managed a school fair, where they independently sold their handmade décor items and food. Through their efforts, they successfully raised 60% of the required funds, with the remaining support provided by the school management.

This experience helped children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, creativity, and basic financial awareness. More importantly, it nurtured independence, responsibility, and empathy towards their surroundings.

The joy and pride on the children’s faces were truly beyond words. They felt confident, capable, and empowered—realizing that even at a young age, they can bring about change. Through initiatives like Design for Change, we aim to raise thoughtful, confident, and responsible individuals who are ready to contribute positively to society.

  • Inclusion at Frobel:

At Frobel, across all three institutions—Frobel Play School, Frobel Play School Dhaka, and Frobel Academy—we strongly believe that inclusion is not just a practice, but a core value that shapes everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where every child, regardless of ability or learning need, is supported, valued, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Inclusion is not a separate system at Frobel—it is deeply embedded in our everyday classrooms, teaching practices, and school culture.

We offer a comprehensive inclusion support system that includes Occupational Therapy (OT)Speech Therapy, an Enrichment Centre, and an Early Intervention Centre (EIC), all delivered through individualized, one-to-one support to ensure focused attention and meaningful progress for each child.

Occupational Therapy (OT) at Frobel plays a vital role in helping children develop the essential skills required for daily functioning and effective learning. This includes improving fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, hand–eye coordination, attention, and self-regulation. Through structured, play-based, and individualized sessions, occupational therapists support children in areas such as handwriting, balance, coordination, personal independence, and classroom readiness. OT is especially important for children who face challenges in sensory processing, motor development, focus, or self-care skills, which may affect their ability to fully engage in classroom learning. Early and consistent intervention helps bridge these gaps, enabling children to become more confident, independent, and successful learners.

The Enrichment Centre is a specialized remedial program designed for children who require additional academic support or who benefit from learning at a different pace. A special education teacher works closely with the child, class teacher, special needs education consultants, and family members to design and implement an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This collaborative approach ensures that each child receives targeted academic intervention tailored to their unique learning needs.

The Early Intervention Centre (EIC), offered at Frobel Play School and Frobel Play School Dhaka, supports infants and toddlers aged 2–5 years who may be at risk or experiencing developmental delays. This program focuses on strengthening communication, social, cognitive, and foundational developmental skills. It also provides parents with guidance, resources, and strategies to actively support their child’s growth. The mission of the Early Intervention Programme is to identify developmental challenges as early as possible and provide timely, effective intervention that supports both child and family development, preparing children for a smooth transition into formal schooling.

Importantly, at Frobel, SEN (Special Educational Needs) children learn alongside their peers in inclusive classrooms. This integrated model encourages social interaction, peer learning, and a strong sense of belonging. It benefits all learners—SEN children gain social modeling and academic support, while other students develop empathy, patience, leadership, and respect for diversity.

The benefits of inclusion are far-reaching. It enhances academic progress, strengthens emotional and social development, improves communication skills, and builds a compassionate and respectful school community. Most importantly, it prepares all children for a diverse world where understanding and acceptance are essential life skills.

Inclusion is at the heart of Frobel because we believe education must adapt to the child, not the other way around. It reflects our commitment to equity, compassion, and individualized support. This is why Frobel stands as an institution where every child is seen, supported, and empowered to grow with dignity, confidence, and independence.

Message From Principal

At Frobel Play School and Frobel Academy, we believe education is at a turning point—and schools must rise to meet it. The purpose of education can no longer be confined to grades and textbooks. It must evolve into a force that shapes values, builds character, and prepares responsible, future-ready human beings.

We are educating children for a world that is rapidly transforming one that demands not just knowledge, but creativity, critical thinking, powerful communication, and deep empathy. The true measure of education lies in its ability to nurture thinkers, innovators, and compassionate leaders who will shape the future with courage and conscience.

This journey begins in the earliest years. At Frobel Play School, we embrace a play-based approach where learning is joyful, meaningful, and free from pressure laying a strong and lasting foundation for life. This vision is carried forward into Frobel Academy, where holistic development is intentionally strengthened through a dynamic integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), sports, and STEAM, preparing students for the Cambridge Assessment International Education pathway up to the IGCSE O and A levels.

However, academic readiness alone is not enough. The emotional well-being of our children is now one of the greatest educational priorities of our time. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 7 adolescents globally experiences mental health challenges. This is not just data, it is a call for schools to become spaces where children feel safe, seen, and valued. Only then can true learning unfold.

Equally, the future of education must be inclusive by design, not by exception. Every child has the right to learn, grow, and belong in an environment that respects differences and nurtures potential. Schools must move beyond uniformity and build systems that support diverse learning needs with dignity and intention. At Frobel, this commitment is deeply embedded in our practice. Our continued work in inclusive and progressive education has been recognised through multiple accolades affirming our belief that when education evolves, every child thrives.

The time has come to shift our mindset from comparison to celebration of individuality. When we choose to see children for their strengths rather than their limitations, we raise individuals who are confident, compassionate, and ready to contribute meaningfully to the world.

Education must not prepare children only to succeed in the world as it is but to transform it into what it should be.

“The future of education lies not in standardising minds, but in honouring every child’s right to belong, to grow, and to rise.”
